How it works

Not accounting software with a chat bolted on

No ledger screens, no data entry. Govrt has three ways in.

Chat

Ask a question or give an instruction. Every figure in the answer links through to the entry and the original document.

Inbox

Email, uploads, photos, Peppol and your bank arrive in one place. Govrt reads, checks and books.

Decisions

Only what needs a human: a new supplier or customer, an exception, a tax return ready to file.

Works with Peppol, Ponto, bunq, CAMT.053 bank files, the Dutch Tax Administration (SBR), XAF export and the Dutch reference chart of accounts (RGS).

Your whole group

One Govrt for your holding and every operating company

Each company keeps its own books, invoice numbering and VAT return. You talk to one Govrt, and see how things stand per company or for the whole group.

Principle

The AI proposes. Fixed rules check.

The AI never books anything itself. It makes a proposal, and fixed accounting rules check it before anything enters your books. Amounts are always calculated exactly, never estimated by the AI.

An entry can never be changed afterwards, only corrected with a reversing entry. Originals are kept unalterable in the archive for seven years.

What Govrt does for you

Booking invoices

Govrt learns a fixed rule for each supplier. Later invoices go through without questions.

Matching the bank

Every transaction belongs to an invoice, a rule or an open question. Your books are up to date every day, not just at the end of the quarter.

Keeping track of VAT

You always know how much VAT you owe. After the quarter, the return is ready for your approval.

Receivables and payments

Reminders go out automatically, and every Friday there is a payment proposal. You pay yourself: Govrt never moves money.

Preparing year-end

Draft annual accounts and a draft corporate income tax return, ready for your tax adviser. You adopt and file them yourself.

Watching deadlines

VAT, corporate income tax, annual accounts and filing, with a short board briefing every Monday.

Every day

Bank and invoices up to date

New transactions matched, incoming invoices read and booked.

3 days past due

Reminder sent

A friendly reminder to the client who is late. For a formal demand, Govrt asks you first.

Friday

Payment proposal ready

Every invoice that needs paying in one batch. You approve and pay in your bank.

After the quarter

VAT return ready

Including the EU sales listing, ready for your approval.

Limits

What Govrt deliberately does not do

Move money

Govrt prepares payment proposals. You always pay yourself, in your own bank.

File without your approval

Tax returns and annual accounts only go out once you have approved them.

Issue an audit report

Govrt is not a chartered accountant. If you need an audit or compilation report, your accountant works from Govrt's export.

Let amounts be estimated

Amounts always come from exact calculations, never from an AI estimate.

Security

Your books in safe hands

Everything stays in the EU

Govrt runs on Scaleway in France and the Netherlands. Your data never leaves the EU.

Sign in with a passkey

No passwords. You sign in with your fingerprint or face, and only on your own devices.

Kept for seven years

Every original is stored unalterably in the archive, for as long as the law requires.

Every entry traceable

Each entry shows which document it came from, which rule was applied and who approved it.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Govrt an accountant?

Govrt is an AI accountant: it does a bookkeeper's work and prepares the tax work. It is not a chartered accountant and does not issue audit or compilation reports. If you need one, your accountant works from Govrt's export.

Does it work with my bank?

Govrt reads your bank transactions every day, through a regulated connection or a CAMT.053 file. Govrt can only read: you make payments yourself in your bank.

What is Peppol?

The European network for e-invoices. An invoice sent via Peppol arrives without errors and without retyping. Govrt receives and sends invoices via Peppol, and by email otherwise.

Can my accountant or tax adviser take a look?

Yes. You grant read-only access to all your books, with an end date. An XAF export is also available.

Where is my data stored?

With Scaleway in France and the Netherlands, inside the EU. Originals are kept unalterable for seven years, and each set of books has its own key.

What if the AI makes a mistake?

The AI only makes proposals. Fixed rules check every proposal, and when in doubt Govrt asks you. A mistake is corrected with a reversing entry; nothing ever disappears.

Govrt logo mark: seven arrows bundled by an orange band

Origin

Named after Govert Brasser, Treasurer-General of the Dutch Republic from 1637

Govrt is pronounced like the Dutch name Govert. The mark bundles seven arrows, as in the coat of arms of the Seven United Provinces, or like operating companies under one holding. The orange band holds them together and closes, like a set of books: always to the cent.
